Overview

EchoLocator is an immersive echolocation plugin that lets players "see" through stone with sound. Fire a pulse and watch it ripple outward as an expanding shell of sonic particles, sampling the surrounding world as it grows. When the echo returns, every discovered signature is highlighted for a short window: ores shimmer in their own characteristic colors, lava-lit cave walls glow with end-rod particles, and nearby living creatures are marked with soul flames. Pick a mode — cave, ore, mob, or all — and an optional range up to the configured maximum. Each pulse respects a cooldown, and the plugin keeps personal stats so players can track how many pulses they have fired and what they have uncovered.

Commands

/echo <mode> [range]

Send a sonic pulse to reveal caves, ores, or mobs. Modes: cave, ore, mob, all. Use /echo stats for your totals.

Installation

1Drop EchoLocator.jar into your server's /plugins folder.
2Restart the server.
3EchoLocator targets Minecraft 1.21 and is ready immediately.

Configuration

config.yml controls default-range and max-range, pulse-step-ticks and blocks-per-step for pulse expansion, reveal-duration-ticks, cooldown-seconds, and the scan-interval sampling stride.
